From the producers of the Bartow Project comes a new multi-media play about Cultural Fire.

With support from the California Arts Council the Wiyot Tribe in present day Northern California and North Coast Repertory Theater in Eureka, Ca. have partnered to develop a new play about the meaning of cultural fire for indigenous people of the area and the effort to bring good fire back to the land.

Written by Michelle Hernandez, Marnie Atkins & Zuzka Sabata, with Maggie Peters, Solomon Everta & Kate Droz and featuring animations by Chantal Jung and shadow puppets by James Hildebrandt.

Both readings will include community talkback sessions afterwards which will serve to support further development of the play. We plan to tour a fully realized production in 2025.
