Punkercize
is a creative autonomous exercise class
Eureka:
april & may
2026
Inspired by the insipid unfollow-ability of popular dance-based exercise classes, Punkercize strives to create an option for us aunties, dad-bodies, hyper-active and maybe a tad angry and suppressed citizens to get some fun free-form cardio in a non-judgemental setting.
THE CLASS:
A 50 minute soundtrack of punky, high-energy music
Suggested movement styles/sequences (you can follow along if you want to)
option to do whatever you want
warm-up & cool down built-in
THE COST:
suggested donation $5-$10
NOTAFLOF!
THE RULES:
Don't hurt yourself
Don't hurt anyone else
THE FACILITATOR:
Zuzka Sabata is a reasonably in shape 47 year old human who enjoys dancing wildly and air-punching. She believes that the development of personal agency is rooted in practices of embodied movement and that is directly connected to the generation of collective political power. She trained at Dell'Arte International as an actor and has gone on to teach and generate community-based projects in Humboldt Co. for the last 16 years.
She also loves dumplings.

this autonomous exercise experiment continues to evolve into structures supporting creative and conscious movement in collaboration with others in the room. There is always the option to do your own thing in addition to suggestions for types of movement - you can join, or not!
All abilities honored in this scheme of things - do what YOU know is good for YOUR body
If you are annoyed by mainstream structured exercise class aesthetics, like to break out and do your own thing without retribution, and/or just really enjoy exercising to loud fast music, then Punkercize is for you.
